Can I Print on the Inside and Back of Folders?

Front and Back of Folder

We always thought it was obvious that customers can print whatever they want anywhere on the folder. However, we were wrong. It is not obvious and many times customers ask us this very question. They figure the folders are already made up and that we just run the completed folder through a printer. It makes sense because the vast majority of customers are not familiar with the folder manufacturing process and have no need to be.

Every folder we sell begins as a large sheet of paper stock (think big sheet of construction paper). Each sheet is then imprinted with ink or foil before it is die cut (think paper snowflake), folded, and glued. It is very common to have printing on the cover, inside pockets, and back of each folder. Whether you would like blank folders or custom folders with printing in some or all of these areas; we can do it all. Whatever you need, we would be happy to help.

You may also be interested to know that pricing is based on the number of ink colors (other than 4-color). This means that there is no extra change for printing on the front, pockets, and back versus just the cover. This is another source of confusion for customers. Again, seems obvious to folks working in the printing industry but not customers.

It is dangerous to assume and even more dangerous to treat your customers as if they are stupid. If you have been mistreated by your local printer because you were not as knowledgeable as they expected you to be, we are very sorry. It is our job to have the knowledge and to educate you so that you are the most savvy folder shopper you can be. We take that responsibility seriously and do our very best with each and every customer whether they order 100 folders or 100,000 folders.

We try to assume you know nothing, not because we think you do, but because we want to be sure we don’t overlook what is obvious to us but unknown to you. We want to make sure you have the necessary information to make the best decision for your company and your marketing efforts. In everything we do, we look for a win-win. Anything less means we have abused your trust in our company.

One really cool tip is to print your business card information on the pocket right behind where the business card goes so that your information remains even if the business card is removed or lost. We are always surprised we don’t see more people doing that.
