Do You Offer Folder Templetes I Can Give to My Designer?

Standard Folder Template

Yes, we have included folder templates for all of our most popular folder styles on our website. If you will be using the services of a graphic artist, simply point them to this page and they can take care of the rest. If you plan to do the design work yourself, you may also be interested in our design online tool.

However, if you are looking for a little more control over your design, then stick with the folder templates. Simply find the design best suited for your project and download either a zip version (for PC or MAC) or sit version (MAC only). Next, unzip the folder template and open the file using a graphics program such as Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXPress, Adobe PageMaker, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Freehand.

Once you have completed your design, simply upload for a quote request or upload for purchase. Feel free to email the folder template to cs@thefolderstore.com with paper stock, ink colors, quantity desired, and shipping zip code. We will then get back to you with pricing.

Here are some quick guidelines to help you get the most out of your design:

  • Always use TheFolderStore.com-approved templates when designing and laying out your artwork.
  • Include TheFolderStore.com template in your final layout file, placed on a separate layer.
  • Always link images, never embed them.
  • Linked images must be in CMYK format, saved as .eps or .tiff with no file compression.
  • All linked raster images must be at least 300 dpi at the size they are to be printed.
  • Always include linked images and fonts when sending us your files.
  • Avoid placing raster images in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Avoid low resolution files types such as .jpeg, .jpg, .gif, and .pict which are not suitable for high quality printing (only quick display over the internet).
  • Avoid placing .pdf files in other programs.
  • Avoid creating your entire layout in Adobe Photoshop as it is not a layout program.
  • Avoid setting text in Adobe Photoshop. It will print more cleanly if set in a vector-based program.
  • Use the "Package" function in Adobe InDesign or the "Collect for Output" function in QuarkXPress to collect the layout file, fonts and images into a single folder.
  • Compress the folder containing all the elements using Winzip or Stuffit before emailing or uploading it. This will protect the files and save time.

If you have any questions or run into any issues, please let us know. We will gladly help in any way we can. There is nothing worse than spinning your wheels and wasting precious time. The Folder Store is here to help you with your presentation folders needs.
